Stress, trauma and illness are things that everyone will encounter at some point in their life, in varying degrees. It may gradually accrue when we have an argument with someone or receive some worrying news. Or maybe you suffer from a chronic health condition.
All those factors can build up overtime, and contribute to us feeling unwell, exhausted and run-down.
How we deal with what life throws at us is different for each person. We might be triggered into fight or flight mode more often than we think, causing our systems to contract. Parts of our bodies tighten as we adopt defensive postures, our breathing gets quicker and shallower, our digestive system shuts down. Moreover, we struggle to think clearly when we are in this survival mode.
