Our Psychologists
1. Your GP can refer you to a psychologist under the Mental Health Care Plan
(MHCP)
- - This gives you 10 sessions per calendar year that are rebateable with Medicare, so you will get $96.65 back at each appointment.
- -Bring your referral letter & MHCP along with you to your first appointment or email it to us at admin@physico.me
- -Reception will do the rest! You’ll receive the Medicare rebate via bank transfer from Medicare after payment. (Please note this can take up to 24hrs)
- - After your 6th appointment you will need to go back to your GP for a MHCP review, which will give you the remaining 4 sessions.
- - We can claim your following appointments with your private health insurance.
- - Just bring your health fund card with you and we will claim on the spot so you only pay the difference of what your insurance covers.

Alexandra Zorbas
Alex has completed her undergraduate degree at UNSW, completed a Masters Degree in Psychology at the City College of New York, and then completed a further post-graduate degree at the College of Professional Psychology (COPP) to obtain full registration with the Board of Psychology in Australia.
In her early career, she worked in non-government and not-for-profit services in Australia and overseas. Her focus was on managing and developing therapeutic housing and community programs, as well as facilitating a wide variety of therapeutic groups for individuals with diverse backgrounds and psychosocial needs. These groups addressed various issues such as:
identity development
depression
voice hearing
stress and anxiety management
creative expression
relationships
self-compassion
communication and social skills.
Her special interest and experience is in supporting individuals who are experiencing symptoms associated with trauma related issues, anxiety or depression, or difficulty adjusting to life transitions.
She has an integrative, non-pathologising and person-directed approach to therapy. She has trained in a variety of evidence-based practices and utilise cognitive behavioural techniques and strategies, mindfulness-based approaches, systemic and narrative perspectives, and am also very interested in psychodynamic approaches. She strives to be flexible and organic in the way that she works, as no one approach or strategy works for everybody or at all times.
Stephen Skinner
Steve is a registered psychologist with experience working with people dealing with work stress and challenges, Acute Stress, Depression, Anxiety, Obsessive Compulsive Disorder, Complicated Grief, ADHD and Post-traumatic Stress. His understanding and effectiveness with his clients is enhanced with having had a career in demanding industrial and management roles alongside a wide variety of people and cultures in Australia and overseas.
He believes that supporting people towards wellbeing begins with listening carefully and understanding their strengths, needs, and situation. He coaches clients in achieving their goals with targeted therapies that have evidence based track records. These include Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Rational Emotive Behavioural Therapy, Mindfulness techniques and Psychoeducation.
Nadia Pendjerkova
Originally from Europe, with academic and professional experience in Canada and Australia, Nadia works with a diverse range of clients.
Nadia’s focus is on how personal history influences established views and responses to present circumstances.
She supports clients in uncovering destructive patterns of thought and behaviour, while encouraging and inspiring them to establish new and more adaptive habits.
